Race for Opportunity

Race for Opportunity (RfO) is a growing network of private and public sector organisations working across the UK to promote the business case for race and diversity. Race for Opportunity challenges organisations to underpin strategies with concrete actions, guaranteeing a postive impact on business performance.

If you would like more information about how Race for Opportunity can help your organisation, please visit the How we can help page.

The business case for inclusion and diversity is more relevant today than it has ever been.  I am delighted to take up this challenge and I look forward to working with businesses across the UK.

Mike FaireyChairman, Race for Opportunity

Mike Fairey has recently taken on the role of Chairman of Race for Opportunity, alongside his role as Deputy Group Chief Executive of Lloyds TSB.

Since its formation eleven years ago, RfO has tracked the development of race diversity on the business agenda, the development of appropriate HR practice and the impact of race on company profits. The agenda is set by business leaders who are committed to action on race.

Race for Opportunity member organisations across several industries have a clear message on race diversity with top management support.

Organisations that work with RfO are working on race to support their business objectives in terms of:

  • their bottom line
  • becoming an 'employer of choice'
  • enhancing their corporate reputation and profile amongst ethnic minority stakeholders and other groups in the wider community .

Benchmarking 2008 - Live 21/01/08

After taking a break from the Benchmarking in 2007, Race for Opportunity members will now be able to access and complete the 2008 survey from Monday 21 January.

This year, we are encouraging all members to complete Survey 1. We have done this in order to save you time and also so that we can see comparisons year on year from 2006 to 2008.
